“Promoting local identity is part of the media culture strategy which can be proven by various examples. An analysis of the popularity that a television comic character like the Oltenian Nea Mărin (Uncle Marin) had in the 1970s Romania should take into the account the reactivation of the trickster cultural archetype, the art of the actor who created the character and the image of local identity on the screen and beyond it.”
